Archdiocesan Choir of Washington Releases First Album

The Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, DC (Juliana Woodill, conductor), formed with the blessing of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, of the Orthodox Church in America, is pleased to announce the official release of their first album. It features selections from Vespers, Matins and the Divine Liturgy all written by American Orthodox composers from a wide variety of backgrounds — second and third generation descendants of old-world Orthodoxy as well as converts. Compositions by Anne Schoepp, Nazo Zakkak, Maia Aprahamian, Kurt Sander, Archpriest Sergei Glagolev, and Alexander Woodill, as well as arrangements of Gennady Lapaev’s work by Vladimir Morosan and of Znamenny Chant and Valaam Chant by Benedict Sheehan.

There are multiple ways to purchase or stream:

The funds from album sales will have the greatest impact, helping to continue the work of the Archdiocesan Choir! The members of the choir and its conductor express the hope that this music can be a source of peace, joy and spiritual encouragement and a witness to the beauty of the Holy Orthodox Church here in America.
