Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Carmel, Indiana, is seeking a qualified Choir Director to lead the parish choir in the Divine Liturgy and major feast celebrations.

Position Details:

  • Part-time (approximately 8 hours per week)

  • Weekly rehearsals and Sunday services

  • Additional time during Nativity, Holy Week, and Pascha

  • Choir season runs from after Labor Day through Pentecost

  • Includes direction of an annual Christmas concert

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading Western notation

  • Demonstrated vocal ability

  • Experience in an Orthodox church setting (singer, chanter, or director)

  • Familiarity with Orthodox liturgical practice

Preferred:

  • Keyboard proficiency (rehearsal use)

  • Familiarity with Liturgical Greek

Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral (OCA) in Boston, MA seeks a salaried Choir Director committed to leading its choir, recruiting and supporting new singers, and working with Cathedral clergy to nurture its life of worship. 

The choir at Holy Trinity has a rich musical history embedded in a vibrant and welcoming community. The regular schedule of services for the liturgical year includes Vigil on Saturdays, on the eves of Great Feasts, the Divine Liturgy on Sundays and Great Feasts, and Vespers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Parish observes a full cycle of divine services during the first week of the Great Fast and Passion Week. All other weeks during Lent we serve the Liturgy of Presanctified gifts on Wednesdays. Additionally, the Choir Director must conduct regular rehearsals and be present for Services of Need, such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals. The candidate must be a pious Orthodox Christian, not only knowledgeable and skillful with music but of liturgical rubrics and practice.
